Pumpkin Cake With Cream Cheese Frosting. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt. Combine your flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl and whisk together.
Add milk if needed, to smooth out frosting. In a large bowl of an electric mixer, combine the melted butter and sugar. In a medium bowl whisk together the flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, baking soda & salt.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; add to wet ingredients and mix thoroughly.
In a large bowl beat together the oil, sugars, eggs, vanilla extract and pumpkin puree until smooth.
In a separate medium-sized bowl, whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, pumpkin, oil, vanilla, and water. Add milk if needed, to smooth out frosting. Garnish with additional ground cinnamon, if desired, then slice and serve.
