Spread the rhubarb in an even layer on the bottom of the pan. Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions. Sift together the cake flour, baking powder and salt.

Pour over rhubarb and marshmallows in pan.
Layer with rhubarb; sprinkle with sugar. Beat in extract and reserved cooking liquid. Combine the rhubarb, sugar, honey, lemon juice, thyme, cinnamon, ginger, salt and vanilla bean paste.
